2015 Ford Mustang To Be The Star In "A Faster Horse"

WESTLAND, Mich. - This year the Ford Mustang, America's first pony car, celebrated its 50th Anniversary! Almost everyone has a "Mustang Story", and Ford is celebrating this momentous occasion, with the 2015 Ford Mustang to be the star in "A Faster Horse"! This is the first time cameras have been brought in to document the secrets behind the infamous American  muscle car.

Titled, "A Faster Horse", the documentary is directed by critically acclaimed director David Gelb, and looks behind the scenes of the development of the 50th Anniversary edition of the 2015 Mustang. Over the course of a year and a half, Gelb and his production team were given unprecedented access to Ford's secret engineering and testing facilities to get the real story behind this car. Ford Motor Company funded the project, however Gelb explains that he had full creative control of the final project which made its debut at this year's Tribeca Film Festival.

Chief Mustang Engineer Dave Pericak is featured throughout the documentary, which highlights his complete adoration of the Mustang brand. Gale Healdernman, the designer of the original Mustang is also featured, as are countless others who have played some part in the 50 year history of the Mustang. With Ford announcing that the 2015 Ford Mustang to be the star in "A Faster Horse",  it just demonstrates the country's own adoration for this muscle car, the original pony car.

Ford Reveals Limited-Edition "Mustang Unleashed" T-Shirt Line

WESTLAND, Mich - Ford Motor Company and five top fashion innovators from around the world came together to create a one-of-a-kind t-shirt line in light of the Mustang's 50th Anniversary. Ford has revealed the limited-edition "Mustang Unleashed" t-shirt line, which features 15 different shirt designs that embrace the adventure, freedom, power and passion behind the Ford Mustang. 

"Mustang Unleashed" celebrates the Mustang's influence on pop culture over the past 50 years through various forms of symbolism and style. Each of the five designers was able to create three Mustang-inspired t-shirts that embodied the personality of the iconic pony car with the addition of their own personal flair. This was the inspiration for each of their designs:

Anna Sui: As a Detroit native, Sui's designs have a rock 'n' roll twist to reflect the Mustang's freedom, authenticity and inspiration. Her designs show you can evolve while remaining true to your identity. 

Rogan Gregory and Scott Mackinlay-Hahn of Rogan: With much respect for minimalism and traditional quality, Rogan's inspiration came from the raw American heritage found within the modern, high-tech Mustang. This is featured in graphics of the shirt by the use of natural, hand-drawn lines.

Paula Cademartori: With a niche for femininity and fine details, Cademartori wanted to highlight geometric shapes, the fantasy of color and glamour and the idea of new experiences.

Tomaso Anfossi and Francesco Ferrari of CO|TE: Coming from a very contemporary point of view, CO|TE designs showcase the Mustang's attention to detail and various geometric elements. CO|TE wanted to show how the Mustang continues to evolve and move forward, without losing site of quality and tradition.

Pamela Love: Love was inspired by the Mustang's role in American pop culture and highlighted the idea of moving forward while leaving the past behind. Her design's emphasize the iconic horse as a symbol of power, strength and freedom.

Ford has revealed the limited-edition "Mustang Unleashed" look book, which you can find here. All of the t-shirts are made by Loomstate in the United States, using 100 percent organic cotton. 2015 Ford Mustang is Headed to the Top

WESTLAND, Mich - The 2015 Ford Mustang is Headed to the Top, the top of the Empire State Building that is. In celebration of a milestone birthday, the Ford Mustang will re-create an special event that is also having a 50 year anniversary. The 2015 Ford Mustang will be placed on display on the observation deck of the Empire State Building in New York City. On April 16-17, the Mustang will celebrate 50 years since the Mustang debuted at the 1964 World's Fair in New York. 

The all-new 2015 Ford Mustang is Headed to the Top of the Empire State Building, 86 stories to be exact. Mind you, taking a vehicle up to such heights is no easy task. There is no crane that can reach an 86 story building and the spire towering above the narrow observation deck makes helicopter delivery impossible. So how do they do it 50 years ago? Elevators, that's how. A prototype Mustang convertible was cut into three pieces, plus windshield, and placed in the elevators. So once again, Mustang engineers are "measuring twice and cutting once" to ensure that the Mustang will fit nicely within the Empire State Building's elevators. Once all of the pieces of the puzzle make it to the 86th floor, technicians will have less than six hours to reassemble the 2015 Ford Mustang. 

Empire State Building observation deck visitors can see the all-new 2015 Ford Mustang within a 54 hour time frame on April 16-17th from 8am to 2am. Historic Mustang Caravan to Celebrate 50th Pony Car Anniversary

WESTLAND, Mich - In honor of five decades of greatness, a Historic Mustang Caravan will Celebrate the 50th Pony Car Anniversary starting in Norman, Oklahoma. Thousands of mustang fanatics will take part in a drive from Norman to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway and Charlotte Motor Speedway for five days of Mustang events.

Come one, come all to the largest caravan of Mustangs in history in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Ford Mustang. Fun filled festivities will celebrate Mustangs of the past, present, and future starting Sunday, April 13, 2014. Mustangs of all ages are encouraged to join the herd of cars headed to Charlotte Motor Speedway or Las Vegas Motor Speedway, where the MCA (Mustang Club of America) will hold an event to celebrate the iconic pony car and the future it holds.

This event is kicking off in the middle of the country so people are able to utilize these cars right where they are meant to; on the road. The Pony Drives are giving Mustang owners the opportunity to share their personal stories and create new memories with other enthusiasts.

The MCA will be coordinating both of the Pony Drives. The Las Vegas Pony Drive is planning to stop in Amarillo, Texas; Albuquerque, New Mexico; and Flagstaff, Arizona. The Charlotte Pony Drive will be stopping in Little Rock, Arkansas; Nashville, Tennessee; and Asheville, North Carolina. If you cannot travel to Norman, you are still able to register for the MCA Pony Drive and join the group in one of the host cities along the way.

Each of the Pony Drives will offer a special goodie box containing one of a kind items that are exclusive to the Pony Drives. These items will not be available to public.

50 Years of Ford Mustang Milestones

WESTLAND, Mich. - With the Ford Mustang's 50th anniversary taking place in April, it's important to look back on how far the pony car has come since its creation in 1964. To celebrate this Ford's long and beautiful history, here's 50 years of (some) Ford Mustang milestones:

1964: Ford introduces the first Mustang on April 17, 1964.

1965: The Shelby GT350 steps on the scene with 306 HP.

1966: Over 1 million Mustangs sold.

1967: The Shelby GT500 is introduced.

1968: A 428 Cobra Jet engine debuts as part of an option package.

1969: 11 different powertrain combinations are now available, including a 290-HP Boss 302, 375-HP Boss 429 and the Mustang Mach 1.

1971: Biggest Mustangs ever are introduced (1 foot longer and 600 lbs. heavier than the original). The Boss 351 debuts.

1974: Redesigned Mustang II is introduced and is 19 in. shorter and 490 lbs. lighter. For the first time, there is no V8 engine and no Mustang convertible.

1977: Fastback models are now available with T-Top removable glass panels.

1979: New "Fox" Mustang debuts and is longer, taller and 200 lbs. lighter than the Mustang II.

1982: Mustang GT returns after 12 years, along with a 5.0-liter V8 engine.

1983: After 10 years of not offering it, Mustang again has a convertible model.

1989: Ford Mustang's 25th Anniversary!

1990: Mustang now comes standard with a driver's side airbag.

1992: The Mustang LX 5.0 develops a cult following and outsells all other models combined.

1993: Ford introduces a limited-production Mustang Cobra. A racing "Cobra R" model (only 107 built) sells out before production even begins.

1994: 30th anniversary arrives and Ford completely restyles the Mustang, changing 1,330 of the vehicle's 1,850 parts.

1996: Mustang GTs and SVT Mustang Cobras are equipped with new 4.6-liter "modular" V8 engine for the first time.

1997: Passive Anti-Theft System becomes standard in all models.

1999: A redesigned Mustang is revealed with creased lines, new hood, grille, fascias and more.

2001: Mustang Bullitt GT makes its debut.

2002: Mustang takes the field alone as the Chevy Camaro and Pontiac Firebird end production.

2003: The Mustang Mach 1 model returns.

2004: Ford produces its 300 millionth car. 2004 Mustangs are the last cars built at Ford's Dearborn Assembly Plant - the same plant that produced every model Mustang year since the car was born.

2007: A special "Warriors in Pink" Mustang is introduced to help raise funds for Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure breast cancer research.

2008: The 9 millionth Mustang is sold to an Iowa farmer.

2009: Ford Mustang's 45th anniversary!

2012: 2012 Boss 302 returns to the lineup for the first time in more than 40 years.

2013: The supercharged 5.8-liter V8 in the 2013 Shelby GT500 becomes the most powerful production V8 in the world with 662 HP.

2014: The 50th anniversary of the Mustang.

Leaked Photos 2015 Ford Mustang

Photos of the 2015 Ford Mustang prototype have been spreading around the net after seemingly being leaked. The digital community has now had the opportunity to glimpse at the new sixth-generation design concept, which appears to combine some of the original Mustang styling with a rounded and more compact modernistic look.

The photos in question are of several unfinished clay models that easily could be the 2015 muscle car; featuring a design that seems on par with the design team that revamped the Fusion and won Best Styling at the Brand Image Awards. Another source of curiosity is how the vehicle will be powered—Ford Motor Company announced they will be selling the Mustang in Europe and this has opened the door to a discussion of a possible EcoBoost 4-cylinder Mustang. Bloggers speculate that a 6-cylinder will be the basic package and that the 4-cylinder would only be offered in Europe, if it is at all. The  2015 Ford Mustang will hit the market in 2014, with a good chance that the unveiling will be coordinated with Ford's 50th Anniversary of the Mustang in April 2014.
