WESTLAND, Mich. - The 2015 Ford Edge brings home the Top Government Safety Award via the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration which awarded the new Edge a five-star Overall Vehicle Score in its New Car Assessment Program. The brand new Edge offers available driver-assist technologies that include adaptive cruise control and collision warning with brake support, 180-degree front camera with washer, inflatable rear safety-belts and a standard rear camera. Receiving this award is huge for the Ford Motor Company because this is one of the highest possible awarded by the government, the Edge is truly a showcase of innovation for the automaker.

The all-new Edge is completely re-engineered from the ground up and it offers three different engine options, two of which are new, for enhanced performance, as well as a plethora of safety and driver assist technology options. JD Shanahan, Chief Program Engineer for the Edge, states that, "The new Edge delivers on quality and handling customers have m to expect from a Ford vehicle, while infusing more innovation and advanced technology to create a vehicle that we think will maintain its leadership position it its segment."

What is so innovative for the Edge is the fact that so many different technologies come completely standard on the vehicle. These include, standard active glove box knee airbag which is an advanced design that uses the glove box front to enhance knee protection for the front passenger in certain crashes and collisions.
