Ford Ranger Makes a Comeback

WESTLAND, Mich.,–– If you're planning on purchasing a powerful off-road midsize pickup in the next few years, you're in luck: the Ford Ranger is making a comeback! The classic midsize pickup truck will be returning to the United States in early 2019, joining the Ford Bronco in Ford's fleet of recently revitalized vehicle models. While you may have to wait a bit for the new Ranger and Bronco models to become available to the market, you can find out what features these new vehicles will offer by following our blog for further updates!

Ford Ranger Makes a Comeback

The Ford Ranger was discontinued in the United States in 2011, but the midsize pickup is very popular in South America, Asia, and Africa. The international Ranger is sold in markets around the world, but until recently, it wasn't set to make a comeback to the United States. The new North American version of the Ranger will receive upgraded headlights, a new grille, and a fresh front fascia, but most of its features will mirror its international counterpart. The larger body will allow for increased towing capacity while maintaining the convenience and accessibility of a midsize pickup.

Ford Ranger Makes a Comeback

"Technically the Ford Ranger isn't dead at all. The current-generation Ford Ranger is built in Thailand, South Africa, and Argentina, and sold in nearly every market around the world besides North America. But as Johnson confirmed, Ford plans to build a new Ranger in its Michigan Assembly Plant and sell it here again." - Road & Track

In just a few short years, you can sit behind the wheel of your very own Ford Ranger! Until the Ford Ranger makes a comeback, you can receive frequent updates on the release of this vehicle by following our North Brothers Blog and checking our new vehicle inventory for any new changes that may happen. If you're looking to trade in your vehicle when the new Ranger model comes out, we can buy your vehicle right away, as well. Feel free to let us know if you have any questions!

The 2018 F-150 engines are the most diverse offering yet, and were built to deliver just what each and every type of pickup driver would need.

“The Ford F-150 lineup again delivers on its promise to give full-size truck customers even more value, functionality and smart technology innovations, with engines with best-in-class towing, payload and fuel economy,” said Todd Eckert, Ford truck group marketing manager. “Our new F-150 highlights Ford’s commitment to its hardworking truck customers and how we listen to their demands for their new F-150 to be even tougher, even smarter and even more capable for work and play.”

WESTLAND, Mich.,––If you're someone who likes to rip it off-road, the 2017 Ford Raptor is worth looking at! The Raptor has officially made a comeback from it's brief hiatus in 2014 and will be available this Fall. The new cutting-edge terrain management system and unique AWD/4WD transfer case is a feature that'll take your daily driving to the next level, and your off-road driving off the charts.

When Ford first announced a new Raptor, the new design and powerful engines were the big selling points; however, there's so much more the behold. The terrain management system and transfer case are completely unique to the 2017 Ford Raptor F-150 and have now become the focus of the media. The goal of Ford's innovative team was to improve the daily driving experience, while cohesively offering the ultimate off-road experience.

The terrain management system is enabled by the dual-mode transfer case that uses both AWD and 4WD systems and electronic lockers for better distributed power to the front and rear wheels - in direct response to the terrain the Raptor is experiencing. With the 6.2L V8, you'll get up to 450 hp and 510 lb-ft of torque, in the best way possible! The 2017 Raptor also comes with maximum traction 17" BF Goodrich All Terrain KO2 tires, which have been specifically designed for this truck. Bonus: it's really nice on the inside.

"With the clutch-based feature of the transfer case, drivers can travel on-road using the 4x4 auto setting, which delivers the benefit of four-wheel drive without the repercussions of component damage or driveline binding – something that can occur when drivers try to use mechanically locked systems on high-traction surfaces like pavement."

Ford specifically calibrated the automatic 4WD to specific road surface conditions, so the transfer case can alter the clutch torque to best fit the environment. With the terrain management system, drivers can select weather modes to finely tune their driving experience, or rely on the Raptor's default electronic shift-on-the-fly system.

If you're someone who desires a better driving experience all around, or more power off-road, we recommend you check out the rip-roaring off-road 2017 Ford Raptor F-150! While you're waiting for this unique and powerful truck to make it to the market this Fall, you can take a look at our large selection of 2017 Ford F-150s online or in person to get a better feel for the quality and innovative features you'll get in the Raptor.

Ford F-150 Scores Big In Dependability & Toughness

WESTLAND, Mich.––When you hear the name Ford, you might think of the slogan "Built Ford Tough". If you're a Ford truck owner, you'll know this slogan to be true, and there are many awards to prove it. The Ford F-150 scores big in dependability & toughness and has recently achieved a 2017 J.D. Power Vehicle Dependability Study award!

Ford F-150 Scores Big In Dependability & Toughness

The Vehicle Dependability Study is run by J.D. Power each year based on reports from original owners of 3-year-old vehicles.

"This study measures car reliability by analyzing problems experienced over the past 12 months of ownership in such areas as: features and controls; engine and transmission;entertainment and navigation; heating and cooling; the overall driving experience, and more."

The 2014 Ford F-150 scored a 3/5 in Powertrain Dependability, and 5/5 in Feature and Accessory Dependability, Body and Interior Dependability, and Overall Dependability. This large light-duty pickup truck was among competitors such as the Chevrolet Silverado 1500, Toyota Tundra, Ram 1500, Nissan Titan, and GMC Sierra 1500.

The 2014 Ford F-150 comes available in three cab styles, 11 different trims, and four engine options, which means there's a F-150 for any need. Although this model year pickup doesn't hold a IIHS Safety Rating, it does hold ratings with NHTSA. The 2014 Ford F-150 (every cab style) received a 4/5 star rating in overall protection.

Since 2014, the Ford F-150 has received upgrades in the body and styling, including the military-grade aluminum body, as well as in technology with SYNC 3, and more efficient engine options. In 2018 we'll be seeing a diesel option as well! The Ford F-150 has found success before and beyond the 2014 model year, which has scored big in dependability & toughness. We think you'll find it no surprise that the Ford F-150 is America's Best Selling Vehicle and has been for 40 years!

We'd love to show you what the newest Ford F-150 has to offer you as well as the used models, too. We pride ourselves on finding the right vehicle for each buyers needs and budget. Take a look at our online inventory or stop by our dealership on Ford Road in Westland to start your search for a F-150.

Better Fuel Economy is Just an F-150 Away

WESTLAND, Mich.––Finding a great deal on the truck of your dreams may be a priority, but considering the long term cost of ownership should be among your thoughts when going to purchase of lease a vehicle. Ford has been consistently innovating to bring its customers better vehicles, better features, and better gas mileage. Going further on a gas tank is important to Ford, and better fuel economy is just an F-150 away.

Better Fuel Economy is Just an F-150 Away

The 2017 F-150 models boast EPA-estimated ratings 2mpg higher than 2016 year models thanks to the new 3.5L EcoBoost engine. The 2016 F-150 offered 17/24/20mpg city/hwy/combined, and the 2017 F-150 will get 18/25/21mpg city/hwy/combined. However, this year the F-150's engine will be combined with the very first production 10-speed automatic transmission. This type of transmission will offer more smooth gear switching, enhanced performance, and a quicker 'get-up'. Better low-end and peak performance is what you'll see with the 10-speed pairing.

The all new adaptive-shift scheduling system will provide a more engaging driving experience. This is thanks to the shifting algorithms which take in real-time data from powertrain and driver control signals to ensure the right gear is being used at the right time. This will give towers and haulers more confidence. The weight-loss in the 2017 Ford F-150 is a big catalyst in the improved shifting performance. The 10-speed gearbox uses alloy and other advanced material to help the truck shed some pounds and reduced the overall packaging footprint, which is just one of the thousands of ways Ford is working to reduce, reuse, recycle, and sustain.

The fun of improved performance isn't just for the new 10-speed/EcoBoost engine pairing, it's also for the 2nd generation 3.5L EcoBoost V6 engine. The new V6 will receive a boost in horsepower by 10. The total numbers for this engine actually beat out the diesel and gasoline competitors, including V8 engines. The second generation V6 can achieve 470 lb-ft of torque, and 375 hp.

If you're interested in checking out a 2016 Ford F-150, which will be offered for $244/mo through the end of October, we've got plenty for you to look at. We'd be happy to give you a test drive so you can see what the EcoBoost engine has to offer! You can check out our Ford F-150 model overview page to get a feel for each option available or start shopping now by viewing our online inventory. If you've got an F-150 that you want to keep running well, make sure to take care of routine maintenance and Fall Car Care before the winter season arrives.
