21 percent of Mustangs ever produced have come in a shade of red, making red the number one color choice for the Ford vehicle. However, black has proven to be the most popular color for 2013-2014 model with 28 percent of all Mustangs being painted black.
Another color that stands apart as being one of Ford's most popular Mustang colors is blue. Blue hit its peak in 1968 when it was the color of choice for 30 percent of Mustangs, and was again the number one choice in 2010.
Looking past the most popular colors, Ford has sold a vehicle with almost every color paint under the rainbow. This includes colors such as brown - a color that was so unpopular that it hasn't been built since 1989. Other colors such as green and yellow have so little appeal that Ford has discontinued them, except as a limited edition. Other limited edition colors that have been released throughout the years are 'Playboy Pink' in 1967, and a color-changing 'Mystichrome' in 2004.
50 years of Ford Mustang colors have given us everything from 'Gotta Have It Green' to 'Grabber Blue' to 'Playboy Pink'. While you might not find a bubble gum pink color choice option for the 2014 Ford Mustang, there is still a range of colors that you'll enjoy.
