Ford F-150 & Focus Electric Named 2015 Greenest Vehicles

Ford F-150 & Focus Electric Named 2015 Greenest Vehicles

WESTLAND, Mich. – Green. Also referenced as environmentally friendly. They're terms that are thrown around a lot these days as we all become more concerned with protecting our environment and lowering our carbon footprint. So while many of today's vehicles reference these buzz words, not many can say that they are in fact the GREENEST – except for a select few including the Ford F-150 and Focus Electric which were named 2015 Greenest Vehicles!

The American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy has compiled their annual vehicle scores to reveal 2015's greenest vehicle choices and we are proud to say that our very own Ford Motor Company earned two top spots! Both the Ford F-150 and Focus Electric were named 2015 Greenest Vehicles of all the vehicles currently available in today's market! Ford's F-150 with a 2.7-liter EcoBoost engine was recognized as the greenest standard pickup truck while the Ford Focus Electric was recognized as one of the 12 greenest vehicles overall! Plus as a bonus, the Ford C-Max Hybrid made the cut as a “Greener Choice” for 2015!

This is great news for consumers who want a vehicle that is more environmentally friendly, but don't want to head full speed into the stereotypical green car segment. You can have the best of both worlds with the F-150 and Focus Electric since they were just recognized as some of 2015's greenest vehicles!

2015 Ford F-150 Offers Lowest Environmental Impact of Any Truck

2015 Ford F-150 Offers Lowest Environmental Impact of Any Truck

WESTLAND, Mich. – Ford Motor Company's 2015 F-150 has finally hit the market and it's breaking all kinds of eco-friendly barriers in the pickup truck market! We're not just talking about fuel efficiency here either. The 2015 Ford F-150 offers the lowest environmental impact of any truck currently on the market thanks to a multitude of factors!

Of course the redesigned full size truck offers an impressive fuel economy rating of 22 mpg combined thanks to its huge weight loss through the extensive use of aluminum. However, the real difference in the F-150's carbon footprint is thanks to the Crew Cab's 2.7-liter turbocharged EcoBoost V6 engine. While one competing truck does beat the F-150 in fuel economy by a lousy ONE mpg, when manufacturing and lifetime use are factored in, the F-150 leaves its competitors in the dust!

Many studies have found that while producing greener cars can lead to slightly higher levels of emissions due to material sourcing, component manufacturing, and assembly, the lifetime use of a green vehicle has a far lower carbon footprint than that of a traditional vehicle. All factors combined, the 2015 Ford F-150 has the lowest environmental impact of any truck!

The 2015 Ford F-150 has arrived at North Brothers Ford so if you need capability but wish to lower your carbon footprint, come check out all that this redesigned truck has to offer! North Brothers Ford, located at 33300 Ford Rd Westland, MI 48185, is proud to be one of the premier dealerships in Southeast Michigan committed to exceptional customer service! 2013 Ford Fusion, First Global Vehicle To Use Recycled Materials

2013 Ford Fusion, First Global Vehicle To Use Recycled Materials
WESTLAND, Mich.- Over the past year we've been reporting on Ford Motor Company's efforts to become more sustainable and eco friendly, and with recent announcements, the automaker's commitment is stronger than ever. Ford is the first automaker to use recycled materials in vehicles sold around the world! Specifically, the 2013 Ford Fusion is the first global vehicle to use recycled materials!

As part of the brand's commitment to use recycled materials whenever possible, Ford has increased the use of recycled yarns by 66% since 2007. Using 41 fabrics across 15 vehicle lines globally, Ford's use of sustainable fabrics continues to grow as the automaker continues to add global vehicle programs.

Ford Motor Company's commitment to doing business in an eco-conscious way is seen in the global launch of the redesigned Fusion. The first global vehicle to use recycled materials, the 2013 Ford Fusion features seat fabric made from materials including recycled plastic water bottles and post-industrial waste. Think about it this way: In 2009, Americans generated 30 million tons of plastic waste and recycled only 7% of it. But, the amount of plastic in about 40 clear plastic bottles is woven into the fabric of the Ford Fusion. Over the course of a production year, the effect could be dramatic! Not to mention, the fabric in the Fusion Hybrid is 100% recycled!

All of this on top of the countless positive reviews and ratings, plus the unparalleled stylish new design, makes the 2013 Ford Fusion a top pick! Want to own your very own Fusion?
