WESTLAND, Mich. – Ford Motor Company's 2015 F-150 has finally hit the market and it's breaking all kinds of eco-friendly barriers in the pickup truck market! We're not just talking about fuel efficiency here either. The 2015 Ford F-150 offers the lowest environmental impact of any truck currently on the market thanks to a multitude of factors!

Of course the redesigned full size truck offers an impressive fuel economy rating of 22 mpg combined thanks to its huge weight loss through the extensive use of aluminum. However, the real difference in the F-150's carbon footprint is thanks to the Crew Cab's 2.7-liter turbocharged EcoBoost V6 engine. While one competing truck does beat the F-150 in fuel economy by a lousy ONE mpg, when manufacturing and lifetime use are factored in, the F-150 leaves its competitors in the dust!

Many studies have found that while producing greener cars can lead to slightly higher levels of emissions due to material sourcing, component manufacturing, and assembly, the lifetime use of a green vehicle has a far lower carbon footprint than that of a traditional vehicle. Westland Police Department's Green Vehicles From North Brothers Ford

WESTLAND, Mich. – Back in 2009, Mayor William Wild kicked off Mission: Green, an initiative to make Westland, MI a more sustainable and green place to call home. Through the input and efforts of so many people in our community, Mission: Green has incorporated many new sustainable aspects to our daily practices, a most recent example being the Westland Police Department's green vehicles from North Brothers Ford!

As part of the ongoing initiative, Mayor Wild challenged city departments to lower their carbon footprints and the Westland Police Department committed to the cause by investing in a new green and efficient patrol fleet from North Brothers Ford! And let us just say, we were so honored to have been able to help the city achieve greater sustainability with vehicles powered by E-85 that are more fuel efficient and produce less tailpipe emissions while still featuring the latest in technology!

Praising their new efficient fleet made up of 20 E-85 powered patrol vehicles – 8 new Ford Explorer SUVs and 12 new Ford Taurus sedans – Mayor Wild presented the police department with Westland's Mission: Green EcoFriendly Award!
