WESTLAND, Mich - The 2015 Ford Mustang will take power, capability and advanced technology to right-hand-drive markets around the world. Right-hand-drive customers, like those located in the United Kingdom, Australia and South Africa, will soon be able to enjoy the infamous pony car as testing begins on the all-new right-hand-drive Mustang.

Ford has recently finished the first-ever, right-hand-drive sixth generation Mustang prototype and is preparing for the completion of various development tests. Ford plans to send the car out into the global market in the coming months, not too much longer after the Mustang goes on sale this fall in the United States. Roughly 120 countries will have access to the 2015 Ford Mustang as of next year, including 25 new right-hand-drive markets. 

One of North America's most beloved vehicles is making its way into the hearts of several other countries world-wide. Since the debut of the Ford Mustang in 1964, 161,000 Mustangs have been sold outside of North America. 2014 NAIAS Ford Display Has Largest Customer Involvement Ever

WESTLAND, Mich - The 66,000 square foot 2014 NAIAS Ford Display has the Largest Customer Involvement Ever. The Cobo Center in Downtown Detroit has been and will continue to be flooded with car fanatics of all ages. Ford raised the bar this year with a memorable presentation of what the company has in store for the future.

A line of 82 vehicles and the latest in Ford products are scattered around 66,167 square feet of floor space for visitors of all ages to enjoy. The new upper-level of the display shows appreciation of "50 Years of Mustang", while another section is dedicated to "The Future of Tough".

This year, customers are able to interact with Ford vehicles in new ways that will showcase the strength and quality of the new products. "The Future of Tough" has the all-new F-150 as a focal point, one of the most buzzed about vehicles this year. A 22 foot tall, 75,000 pound assembly line display shows consumers the productions stages of the F-150. Each stage of construction touches on a different theme; durability, capability, efficiency, and technology.

The all-new pony car has been an icon for over 50 years and Ford paying a special tribute to it in this year's display. The 2015 Mustang is the center of attention at the stand this year. The upper-level exhibit will expose customers to 50 years of Mustang cultural and historical artifacts. It will also highlight references to the Mustang's impact on fashion, film, food, and fun the last 50 years.

A live engagement presentation and film is part of the display as well. Visitors have the chance to take part in the narration and presentation via two cameras that are catching all of the showgoers checking out the Mustang exhibit. An ST area allows two visitors to race in a head-to-head simulated road course. Winning times can be recorded and shared via personal social networks.

David Tillapaugh, Global Auto Show Operations Manager for Ford, stated that the 2014 NAIAS Ford Display has the Largest Customer Involvement Ever. He also made note that this year will be the prime opportunity for Ford to engage consumers right at the entrance of the display and allow them to see for themselves what makes "Ford Go Further".

All-New Ford Mustang Heads to Hollywood

WESTLAND, Mich - Lights, camera, action! Before hitting the real streets next fall, The All-New Ford Mustang Heads to Hollywood. The eagerly awaited "Need for Speed" film, based off of the Electronic Arts video game series, is featuring the Mustang and is set to debut this spring.

The Ford Mustang has made over 3,200 appearances between movies and television shows in the last 50 years. The all-new Ford Mustang is going to light up the big screen in "Need for Speed" on March 14. Actor Aaron Paul will be driving both the 2014 Mustang throughout the film as well as take the wheel of the next-generation Mustang on its first on-screen appearance.

The director, Scott Waugh, chose the Mustang because of it's representation of American culture. He stated that the Mustang is symbolic for modern muscle and has an iconic reputation in some of the best car chase movies of all time.

Hollywood was one of the chosen locations for the global reveal of the all-new Mustang on December 5, 2013. The pony car was driven out onto wet cement in the forecourt of the TCL Chinese Theatre, just like any star in Hollywood would do. The Mustang had its prints and signature logo documented into cement for the rest of the world to admire.

Fans of the video game series have already had access to the all-new Mustang with a virtual driving free in-game downland that came out in mid-December. Players in the game are able to customize their Mustang by choosing one of five popular designs.

As the All-New Ford Mustang Heads to Hollywood, the rest of us averages Joes just have to sit in anticipation. "Need for Speed" hits theaters on March 14th!

All-New Mustang Will Be First to Launch Ford SYNC® AppLink™

WESTLAND, Mich - The All-New Mustang Will Be First to Launch the Ford SYNC® AppLink™and will improve the in-vehicle smartphone experience for good. As the all-new Ford Mustang goes on sale later this year, it will be fully equipped with the next-generation Ford SYNC® AppLink™system. The Mustang will be the first model in North America to feature the new system that includes simpler menus, enhanced voice control, and plenty of other new capabilities.

As mentioned before, the Ford SYNC® AppLink™system is looking to enhance the in-vehicle app experience. Even more important, Ford wants to help drivers keep their hands on the wheel and eyes on the road. Some of the new functions that Mustang drivers can expect are:

• Easier in-vehicle menus and controls which will allow drivers to launch apps on their mobile device more quickly by pressing the SYNC button on the steering wheel and saying the name of the app (and not "Mobile applications" first).

• Apps can retrieve access to a selection of real-time vehicle data such as acceleration, speed, odometer, and location that can be used to customize the user experience. For instance, access to the in-vehicle GPS signal can make for more precise and accurate location-based services. 

• A more consistent user experience thanks to voice pass-through capability. This allows developers to use the on-device or cloud-based voice recognition system to evaluate commands given by the driver. Drivers are able to use the same set of voice commands to control the app when connected to the vehicle as they would when they are not connected. 

• Notifications will be read aloud to drivers as they come in. Alerts are available anytime a mobile device is connected to Ford SYNC® AppLink™, even if the app is not active at that time or if the driver is listening to the radio.

First Retail of 2015 Ford Mustang GT Fastback Will Benefit Leading Diabetes Research Charity

WESTLAND, Mich - An auction will be held for the first retail of the 2015 Ford Mustang GT fastback to benefit leading diabetes research charity, JDRF. The winner bidder of the fastback will have the ability to personalize his or her car with any available Mustang GT options.

The Barrett-Jackson Auction Company event in Scottsdale, AZ on January 18, 2014 will be the first retail unit sale of the all-new Ford Mustang. All proceeds will benefit the country's leading global organization funding type 1 diabetes search, JDRF. With Ford Mustang symbolizing freedom and independence for millions of people around the world for five decades, it seems only fitting that Ford auction off a new Mustang to help advance the goal of providing those affected by diabetes with more independence. 

Ford has been one of JDRF's first global partners and supporters since 1983. Ford Mustangs have always been one of the most popular collector cars at the Barrett-Jackson Collector Car events. During the auction, Ford will also be offering ride-and-drive and hot lap experience at WestWorld for those attending the sale.
