The 2017 Ford GT Will Be The Most Expensive Car Ford Has Ever Created

WESTLAND, Mich. – The car that stole the show during the 2015 Detroit Auto Show was none other that the 2017 Ford GT! This new supercar will boast over 600 horsepower from a twin-turbocharged Eco Boost 3.5 liter V-6 engine! Can you say impressive? A vehicle this extraordinary is bound to have a price-tag to match; the 2017 Ford GT will be the most expensive car Ford has ever created, coming in at a cool $400,000.

This price point puts the new 2017 GT in competition with the Lamborghini Aventador, which is a class that Ford has never had representation in. The car is built mostly by hand, and Ford plans on building around 250 units starting next year. The 2017 Ford GT will be the most expensive car Ford has ever created, and is expected to generate roughly $100 million dollars for the company.  

Raj Nair, who is the group VP of Ford Global Product Development, says that “The GT is the ultimate execution of an enthusiast supercar, the GT includes innovations and technologies that can be applied broadly across Ford’s future product portfolio – another proof point that Ford continues raising the performance bar while ultimately improving vehicles for all of our customers”

A sports car that is made in our own backyard sounds to good to be true! But it isn’t!  Ford’s new performance division plans on launching over 12 new vehicles through 2020. Ford is looking to attract new consumers, and hopefully spur millennials into looking at Ford with new insight.

Grilling Tips and Recipes for Your Next Summer BBQ

WESTLAND, Mich - Summertime is full of some of our favorite activities -bonfires, boating and best of all.....BBQs! If you haven't already, it is time to break in the good ole grill and start cooking up some delicious summertime meals. Grilling Tips:

• Clean it Up - Brush off your grill while it is still hot with a long-handled wire grill brush. Also, you can reduce food sticking to your grill by rubbing a vegetable oil-soaked paper towel over the hot grill racks with tongs.
• Keep it HOT, HOT, HOT - It is important that your grill is preheated 15 to 25 minutes prior to cooking. This will ensure that your grill reaches the appropriate temperature and kills any left over bacteria. High heat should reach 400-450°F, medium heat 300-350°F and low heat 250-300°F. 
• Chill Out for a While - Once the meat has finished cooking, it is always a good idea to cover it with foil for about 10 minutes. All of the juices in the meat will have time to redistribute evenly and will result in an extra tasty meal for you!

New Ford System Helps Protect Police Officers

WESTLAND, Mich. - The police work hard to protect our communities, that's why a new Ford system will help protect police officers. Criminals will often target officers when they are in their vehicles, believing them to be the most vulnerable - especially if they can sneak up from behind. This new surveillance system, the first of its kind, will provide police officers with the security that they won't be ambushed from behind while sitting in their vehicles.

This Ford Motor Co. surveillance system sounds a chime, locks the doors and puts up the windows if it detects someone approaching the car from behind. Officers are often the most vulnerable at night, especially when they are in an area that is not packed with a lot of pedestrians. This system would ensure that they wouldn't be taken by surprise.

The safety feature is officially called "Surveillance Mode", and can be turned on or off. This is especially useful for when an officer is in a high traffic area, since the system is not as necessary when there are a lot of people around. Surveillance Mode sells for $248.44 as a stand-alone option, but can go for $75 when it's packaged with other options. If this system proves to be effective, it will most likely be made available to consumers in the near future.

WESTLAND, Mich.- Who's got their running shoes on? The Annual North Brothers Ford & City Of Westland 5K Fun Run is just around the corner! For 2013, the 5K Fun Run will take place on Saturday, May 11th, beginning at 9:00am. Join us at the Bailey Recreation Center on Ford Road in Westland a little bit before the run begins at 9:00am to meet up and get ready for a good time! The best part is that the run benefits the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute! So come out to have a blast and support a great cause!

Now let's get this straight, you do NOT have to be a serious runner to participate in this event! The Annual North Brothers Ford & City Of Westland 5K Run is for FUN. So it doesn't matter if you want to sprint, jog, skip, or walk, all we care about is coming together to support an amazing cause, the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute!
