WESTLAND, Mich. –What’s the best way to fight cancer? With speed, and Ford Motor Co. is doing just that by auctioning a 2016 Shelby GT350R Mustang, which goes zero to 60 mph in four seconds, to raise funds for the American Cancer Society at the Cattle Baron’s Ball Auction on September 26, 2015.

The Mustang is unique among others, designed specifically for this awareness and fundraising event, and showcases unique features made possible by a large group of suppliers who provided materials and time needed to build such a magnificent Mustang. Some of the standout features include:

• Unique blue stripe that matches the interior stitching on the door panels, seats, center console, instrument panel, and steering wheel.

The American Cancer Society Cattle Baron’s Ball is a distinguished charitable event in Metro Detroit, and has experienced immense success since inception in 2003. As a Western-themed event, the ball includes live entertainment, Texas-style cuisine prepared by Detroit’s own high-end restaurants, dancing, a live and silent auction, and other attractions.

Ford is now offering the California Special and the Pony Package as two, limited edition, packages which are exciting the passionate Mustang fan-base.

The California Special and the Pony Package, both pay homage to the start of the Mustang in the 1960s. 2015 Ford Mustang To Be The Star In "A Faster Horse"

WESTLAND, Mich. - This year the Ford Mustang, America's first pony car, celebrated its 50th Anniversary! Gale Healdernman, the designer of the original Mustang is also featured, as are countless others who have played some part in the 50 year history of the Mustang. What is interesting about this is the ability to see the preferences of the car from different countries around the world, like color for example. The top mustang colors around the globe vary, depending on the country.  

Here in the United States, “Absolute Black” is the most popular choice, bucking the United States’ national trend of white being the top color choice for vehicles. “Magnetic Metallic” follows “Absolute Black”, and the third most requested color choice is “Ruby Red”.

The infamous pony car will go on sale in Europe later on this year, and sales have already begun recently in China. In Europe, “Race Red” leads the way in regards to color preference, and that also rings true in China as well, where 35% of orders specify “Race Red”. “Deep Impact Blue” is the third most popular color option in Europe, with the color being especially popular in United Kingdom and Italy.

Countries abroad are getting a taste of American muscle with the 2015 Mustang, with the new model becoming available in more than 100 markets.
