After a little preview last night, it is necessary that we fill you in on all that greatness that the 2014 Ford Fusion is. The EPA-estimated rating of 47 miles per gallon while driving in the city, on the highway, or a combination of both, is just one of the many incredible features this vehicle has to offer.
The gas engine and electric motor work together to give the Fusion 188 net horsepower, allowing the car to travel up to 85 mph on electric power alone. The gas engine kicks in extra power when necessary, like when the driver is passing or merging. The 2014 Ford Fusion's braking system also encompasses efficiency, capturing up to 90 percent of the energy that is normally lost through heat when braking. The system also recycles energy to recharge the hybrid battery.
If all of that wasn't enough, the Fusion gives customers a very nice ride. The eCVT, or Electronically controlled continuously variable transmission, gives the Fusion seamless, gearless shifting. It also compensates for changing vehicle speeds, maintaining the engine level at the peak of efficiency. An aerodynamic design gives the Fusion the ability to reduce aerodynamic drag and also increase efficiency.

Ford has had the best sales for a November since 2004, with a 7 percent increase overall and a 9 percent increase in the month of November alone. These fantastic numbers are due in part to the sales increase of the Ford Fusion and the Ford Fiesta. Both passenger cars set records for the month of November with the Ford Fusion experiencing a 51 percent increase and the Ford Fiesta at 4,642 vehicles sold - a 26 percent increase!

If you're one of the millions, you've probably started to pack and prepare your vehicle for the weekend ahead. However, one aspect of the car that many drivers forget to check is their tires. To keep your tires healthy and functional, here are 5 tire safety tips.
First, invest in a tire gauge. For only a couple of dollars, you can rest easy that your tires are always properly inflated and being properly maintained. Tires that are inflated to their ideal pressure not only are better for your car, but also more fuel efficient! To find out your cars perfect pressure, check your owner's manual.
Second, be aware of the tread on your tires. There is a simple test you can perform to test the tread, called the penny test. Simply take a penny and put it in the tread of your tire with Abraham Lincoln's
head facing down. If you can see the top of his head, your tires need to be replaced.
A third tip is that you should regularly rotate your tires. Every 6,000-8,000 miles, rotate your tires to make sure they're wearing evenly. Depending on how your vehicle drives, some tires may become worn more quickly than the rest - by rotating your tires, you ensure that the wear is equal.
Continuing with the importance of monitoring the wear on your tires, replace your rear tires first. If for whatever reason you can only purchase 2 new tires, those tires should be put on the rear. Your rear tires provide the most stability and prevent your car from fishtailing - so replace those first!
Our final tip is to be aware of your driving habits. Your driving habits play a huge role in the life of your tires. If you drive aggressively at high speeds, or frequently come to a hard stop, your tires are going to wear more quickly. Also make sure to avoid hitting curbs, or going over potholes.

Ford's average score among YouGov survey respondents was 31.

Ford is environmentally sustainable in numerous ways, and it continually evolves to be more efficient and environmentally friendly. Although continuing to change, here are just a few ways that Ford integrates sustainability into the company:
Ford has set a 30 percent water-use-per-vehicle reduction goal for itself, hoping to achieve this goal by 2015. However, they have already decreased it by 25 percent since 2009 meaning they could easily exceed their goal by 2015! Just to put the 25 percent in perspective, they have saved 10.6 billion gallons of water since their first move towards conservation in 2000.
Between 2000 and 2012, Ford has achieved a 37 percent decrease in carbon emissions per vehicle. This does wonders for the greenhouse gases in our atmosphere, ensuring the Ford contributes to global warming as little as possible.
With a goal to reduce the amount of waste-to-landfill by 40 percent per vehicle by 2016, Ford has already reduced the amount by 19 percent over the course of one year. They are able to do this by incorporating recycled materials into the production of their vehicles, such as the 2013 Ford Fusion's seat fabric that is made from recycled plastic water bottles and post-industrial waste.
Improved global energy efficiency by 6.4 percent! This means that Ford is working on reducing the amount of energy required to make one of their vehicles. 6.4 percent in all of their factories around the world is a huge step in the right direction.

WESTLAND, Mich.- It's had to believe that it's been almost a year since the 2013 Ford Fusion showed up on the showroom floor, but we've got news about updates for 2014! While Ford Motor Company hasn't announced any major updates, there are a few new features to look for in 2014. Minor updates have been leaked for the 2014 Ford Fusion in the vehicle's second year on the market. The first change for the third generation of the Fusion will be a smaller turbocharged engine. The 2013 Ford Fusion's current 1.6-liter engine will be replaced by a smaller 1.5-liter EcoBoost turbocharged four-cylinder engine with start-stop functionality. The 0.1-liter displacement will go into effect for all automatic transmission EcoBoost Fusions but the manual transmission models will still receive the 1.6-liter engine.
The second minor update for the 2014 Ford Fusion is the most important. The rear seats in the sedan will receive seatbelt airbags. The 2013 Ford Explorer was the first vehicle to offer rear seat belt air bags to provide extra safety for smaller passengers, and the 2014 Fusion will come equipped with that added safety feature too.
The last known update for the 2014 Ford Fusion will be available only on the vehicle's Titanium model. The 2014 Ford Fusion Titanium will be updated with both heated and cooled seats plus the option for a heated steering wheel. However, the Titanium updates will not be available until later in the model year.
For 2013 the Ford Fusion was completely refashioned and while no major updates are planned, the third generation Fusion will receive minor updates for its second year on the market.
