Ford's New Police Interceptor to Debut at Chicago Auto Show

WESTLAND, Mich. – With any auto show comes the anticipation of new vehicle debuts. While we all may be a bit biased towards the Detroit Auto Show since it takes place right here at home, we must not forget that automakers use various other auto shows as the stage for new model debuts as well. And that's what Ford Motor Company is doing! According to a teaser tweet the automaker sent out, Ford's New Police Interceptor will debut at the Chicago Auto Show next weekend!

Ford is being quite reserved with this one, giving us only the slightest bit of information to peak our interest. The tweet, sent out via Ford Motor Company's Twitter account is pretty much the only insight we have into the new Police Interceptor's debut set for February 12th. But from the looks of it, one might guess that the new utility vehicle is based off the civilian 2016 Ford Explorer that was revealed at the LA Auto Show. Since the current utility Police Interceptor is based off of the Explorer, it's not unrealistic to think the new Ford Police Interceptor debuting at the Chicago Auto Show will be too!

Press days for the auto show in Chicago kick off on February 12th, with the show opening to the public on February 14th. So in just over a week, we'll have complete details on which new Ford police vehicle we can expect to begin seeing on the roads!

Whether you're looking to upgrade your law enforcement agency's fleet or your personal lineup, the Ford Explorer is built to exceed your every expectation and need. Stop by to take one for a test drive to see what this SUV is made of!

New Ford GT Supercar Debut

WESTLAND, Mich. – The North American International Auto Show kicked off this week in Detroit and Ford Motor Company is bringing sexy back in a huge way with the new Ford GT Supercar Debut! Yes you read that right, Ford just debuted the ultra-high-performance GT as one of more than 12 new Ford Performance vehicles expected to hit the market by 2020!

The Ford GT Supercar debut is by far the automaker's most extreme performance offering, and with 600+ horsepower capabilities, we're starstruck! Ford has definitely stole the show with this one. With advances in light-weighting, aerodynamics, and efficiency, this GT beauty is a technology showcase! Under the hood is the most powerful production EcoBoost engine ever made! The 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V6 engine boasts 600+ HP! But as Bill Ford told reporters at the Detroit Auto Show, "You don't buy this car for fuel economy." While the new GT is built with a lot of fuel-saving technology, it's definitely more about performance.

The new Ford GT performance car debut is all about remembering the company's history. While today's performance vehicles are built in laboratories, Ford isn't about to forget that their first innovation was built on the track. Of course the new GT adopts new technologies like carbon fiber and aluminum for exceptional acceleration, handling, and efficiency. And it will definitely be able to hang with the exotics with its race-proven technology.

All we can say is the rest of the supercars better watch out because the all-new Ford GT is expected to hit production lines next year, and they're about to be left in the dust! What a way to kick off the 2015 Detroit Auto Show!

The coveted annual award relies on more than 50 veteran journalists to recognize the best new or substantially updated truck or utility vehicle based on innovation, design, safety, handling, driver satisfaction, and value. For the 22nd year in a row, the jury of journalists evaluated popular competitors and in the end named the 2015 Ford F-150 North American Truck of the Year; the eighth time a Ford vehicle has won the award!

The redesigned 2015 Ford F-150 is the toughest, smartest, and most capable F-150 ever to hit the market so we can't say we're surprised it blew away the competition. A truck equipped with a military-grade, aluminum-alloy body; high-strength steel frame; and the market's highest EPA-estimated fuel economy ratings for any full-size gasoline pickup deserves to be named the North American Truck of the Year in our eyes!
