Westland Police Department's Green Vehicles From North Brothers Ford

WESTLAND, Mich. – Back in 2009, Mayor William Wild kicked off Mission: Green, an initiative to make Westland, MI a more sustainable and green place to call home. Through the input and efforts of so many people in our community, Mission: Green has incorporated many new sustainable aspects to our daily practices, a most recent example being the Westland Police Department's green vehicles from North Brothers Ford!

As part of the ongoing initiative, Mayor Wild challenged city departments to lower their carbon footprints and the Westland Police Department committed to the cause by investing in a new green and efficient patrol fleet from North Brothers Ford! And let us just say, we were so honored to have been able to help the city achieve greater sustainability with vehicles powered by E-85 that are more fuel efficient and produce less tailpipe emissions while still featuring the latest in technology!

Praising their new efficient fleet made up of 20 E-85 powered patrol vehicles – 8 new Ford Explorer SUVs and 12 new Ford Taurus sedans – Mayor Wild presented the police department with Westland's Mission: Green EcoFriendly Award!

Westland Mayor William Wild Visits North Brothers

WESTLAND, Mich - Westland Mayor William Wild Visits North Brothers this week with a special announcement. We were fortunate enough to kick off his campaign for Wayne County Executive.

As you will see in the video posted below, Wild mentioned his goals for Wayne County and what he would hope to do in office. William Wild stated "I'm running on the transformation of Westland, the 10th largest city in the state and the third largest city in Wayne County". William Wild has been mayor since 2007, just a year prior to the financial crisis. 

Mayor Wild identified himself as a "hands-on" and 24/7 guy as mayor and looks to be the same as county executive. William Wild believes in accountability  and wants to make Wayne County a leader in the state and nation. 

Wild is the first candidate to officially announce his candidacy for county executive. You can see his speech that was given January 15, 2014 at North Brothers Ford below:
