As part of the brand's commitment to use recycled materials whenever possible, Ford has increased the use of recycled yarns by 66% since 2007. Using 41 fabrics across 15 vehicle lines globally, Ford's use of sustainable fabrics continues to grow as the automaker continues to add global vehicle programs.

Ford Motor Company's commitment to doing business in an eco-conscious way is seen in the global launch of the redesigned Fusion. The first global vehicle to use recycled materials, the 2013 Ford Fusion features seat fabric made from materials including recycled plastic water bottles and post-industrial waste. Think about it this way: In 2009, Americans generated 30 million tons of plastic waste and recycled only 7% of it. But, the amount of plastic in about 40 clear plastic bottles is woven into the fabric of the Ford Fusion. Over the course of a production year, the effect could be dramatic! Not to mention, the fabric in the Fusion Hybrid is 100% recycled!

Minor Updates For 2014 Ford Fusion

WESTLAND, Mich.- It's had to believe that it's been almost a year since the 2013 Ford Fusion showed up on the showroom floor, but we've got news about updates for 2014! While Ford Motor Company hasn't announced any major updates, there are a few new features to look for in 2014. Minor updates have been leaked for the 2014 Ford Fusion in the vehicle's second year on the market.

The first change for the third generation of the Fusion will be a smaller turbocharged engine. The 2013 Ford Fusion's current 1.6-liter engine will be replaced by a smaller 1.5-liter EcoBoost turbocharged four-cylinder engine with start-stop functionality. The 0.1-liter displacement will go into effect for all automatic transmission EcoBoost Fusions but the manual transmission models will still receive the 1.6-liter engine.

The second minor update for the 2014 Ford Fusion is the most important. The rear seats in the sedan will receive seatbelt airbags. The 2013 Ford Explorer was the first vehicle to offer rear seat belt air bags to provide extra safety for smaller passengers, and the 2014 Fusion will come equipped with that added safety feature too.

The last known update for the 2014 Ford Fusion will be available only on the vehicle's Titanium model. The 2014 Ford Fusion Titanium will be updated with both heated and cooled seats plus the option for a heated steering wheel. However, the Titanium updates will not be available until later in the model year.

For 2013 the Ford Fusion was completely refashioned and while no major updates are planned, the third generation Fusion will receive minor updates for its second year on the market. Ford's Flat Rock Assembly Plant Is Hiring

WESTLAND, Mich- Recently the headlines have been filled with positive Ford Motor Company News like the MIS Ford Fusion Pace Car, Best Redesigned Vehicle Award, and Ford Vehicles Minimize Allergens. And we've got even more good news to share with you! Ford Motor Company's Flat Rock Assembly Plant is Hiring for an additional shift that will be added later this year to accommodate increasing demand for Ford vehicles!

With all of this publicity, the demand for the new Ford vehicles has been increasing, specifically for the 2013 Ford Fusion. While the Flat Rock Assembly Plant currently produces the 2013 Ford Mustang the automaker has found the need to add another shift to meet the demand for the new Fusion. Yesterday a Ford spokeswoman confirmed that the process to find and hire 1,400 new workers for the Flat Rock Assembly Plant is underway! Although about two-thirds of the 1,400 new hires will be transfers, Ford's Flat Rock Assembly Plant is hiring about 400 new workers.
