North Brothers Will Be Honored for 75 Years with Plaque Presentation

WESTLAND, Mich.–– The historic South East Michigan Ford dealership, North Brothers Ford in Westland, MI, will be celebrating a large milestone this year. We're proud to say North Brothers will be celebrating 75 years as a Ford franchise. This Wednesday, March 30, North Brothers will be honored for 75 years with a plaque presentation from Ford Motor Company Executives. 

All media and local dignitaries are invited to join us at Noon at North Brothers Ford, located at 33300 Ford Rd. Westland, MI 48185. We'll be celebrating selling and servicing of Ford vehicles since 1941. That's 75 years of service to the South East Michigan area! 

The original North Brothers, Raymond and Ernest, opened a Mobil service station together on Fort Street in Lincoln Park, Michigan in 1928. They were awarded a Desoto/Plymouth franchise in June of 1936 and began selling new cars and trucks. Their success in selling new vehicles resulted in Ford Motor Company offering them a very desirable and exclusive new car Ford franchise in 1941. In the early years, they sold Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury vehicles as well as being the Lincoln and Mercury distributor for southeast Michigan. They became a Ford dealer exclusively in 1945.

2015 Ford F-150, Expedition and C-MAX Win J.D. Power Segment-Level Awards

WESTLAND, Mich.– If you haven’t noticed, Ford is on a roll and hasn’t had any trouble raking in awards for safety and satisfaction from the likes of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and AutoPacific, respectively. The automaker recently garnered more recognition when the 2015 Ford F-150, Expedition and C-MAX won J.D. Power segment-level awards.

The rankings­– derived from the most recent J.D. Power 2015 U.S. Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) Study– indicate the three Ford vehicles led their segments. If anything, this bolsters Ford’s position as America’s most reliable automaker that strives to produce quality vehicles.

For the second year in a row, the 2015 F-150 received the topmost award for the Large LightDuty Pickup segment. The 2015 Expedition was rated highest in the Large SUV segment and the 2015 C-MAX earned the Compact Multi-Purpose Vehicle Award.

This marked the 20^th year for the J.D. Power APEAL study, which is considered the best system to measure how much appeal a new vehicle brings to consumers based on how rewarding it is to own and drive it. To gauge the comprehensive value of their vehicles, owners look at 77 aspects that blend to make an overall APEAL Index score that is measured on a 1000-point scale.

The 2015 Ford F-150, Expedition and C-MAX won J.D. Power segment-level awards and earned a total brand score of 798, a 9-point improvement from last year that levels out with the industry average. Thanks to the improved numbers, Ford’s new vehicle APEAL Index score trumps the ratings of competitors like Chevrolet, Dodge and Chrysler.

With a flood of awards and new vehicles, and a deeper devotion to societal and technological research, it’s safe to say Ford is breaking new ground in the auto industry. Military Members Take Ford Vehicles for a Spin

WESTLAND, Mich.­– There are many creative ways we can support our troops, but the best idea we’ve seen yet was letting American military members take Ford vehicles for a spin at the Ford Driving Freedom ride-and-drive event in Germany.

At Ford Driving Freedom, Ford handed over Mustang and F-150 keys to troops who are stationed across Europe and let them burn some rubber at Hockenheimring, the German Grand Prix track. The test-drive event gave military members a break from their day-to-day routine, but was still something exciting and invigorating to fit their appetite for the extreme.

By having military members take Ford vehicles for a spin at a central location like Hockenheimring, Ford was able to extend the event to troops stationed in many different areas of Europe. Military members weren’t the only ones to benefit from the occasion. The event provided Ford a rare opportunity to show off two of its most popular cars to men and women stationed overseas.

Overseas Military Sales Corporation– the only on-base, factory-authorized Ford Motor Company distributor to military personnel– also got in on the action by hosting a contest that generated 125 winners out of 300 entrants. The contest was another way Ford found to boost morale for U.S. military members who are away from their friends and family back home.

Ford has a close relationship with military members that started long before this event was put on. In 2014, the F-150 was the highest-selling vehicle to military members, and Overseas Military Sales Corporation was the world’s leading Mustang retailer. No wonder the Ford Driving Freedom event had such a wonderful turnout!

The Ford Driving Freedom event was a test-drive in itself, used by Ford to gauge how effective similar future events might be.
