WESTLAND, Mich. - Ford has announced that they will be debuting the 2015 Ford Mustang in December - four months earlier than originally planned - but if it's up to Mustang fans, Ford will only be revealing a car that's old news. First, a computer generated image (like the one above) surfaced after one Mustang fan created a digital representation of the pony car based on the prototypes seen driving around Michigan. Now, the 2015 Ford Mustang specs have leaked, giving all Mustang lovers a peak at what's under the hood.
According to a report on Car and Driver, the 2015 Ford Mustang will have the same engine options as what is in the current model - a 3.7-liter V6 and a "Coyote" 5.0-liter V8. The power ratings are supposed to remain the same as well, with the V6 producing 305HP and 420HP for the V8. The transmissions will most likely remain the same, with a choice of a six speed manual or six speed automatic, although, a ten speed automatic is believed to be in the works.
The engine choices aren't expected to remain the same for too long though, since a GT badged 5.0 liter that will produce 500 HP will be added to the mix.
The technology options are the only aspect of the vehicle to have not been leaked, leaving the Mustang world guessing as to what will be made available in this 50th anniversary model. Thankfully, we won't have to guess for too long since December is right around the corner! Until then, the 2015 Ford Mustang specs that have leaked will hold us over.
