WESTLAND, Mich. - Ford is known for its unique customizations - everything from the bacon wrapped Ford Fiesta to the customized trucks that debuted at SEMA 2013. Adding to the list, Ford has created a Hot Wheel Transit Connect.
The design team at Hot Wheels were given the opportunity to transform a 2014 Transit Connect van, along with a Michigan-based custom builders group and Ford designers. Together they created a vehicle that could easily be mistaken for its tiny toy counterpart.
To make it look more like the Hot Wheels toy car, designers reskinned the Transit Connect and made the wheels wider in the back. It's powered by a 2.5-liter Ti-VCT four-cylinder and is featured with custom exhaust ports and gullwing doors.
Inside the Hot Wheel inspired Transit Connect, designers added a Sortimo secondary floor, a 55-inch TV, two 18-inch tablet computers, and Recaro racing seats.
Ford has created a Hot Wheel Transit Connect that the kid in you will love. While this exact vehicle won't be made available on our lot, the 2014 Transit Connect will be available in early 2014. However, if you're interested in some of the modifications and upgrades made to the Transit Connect, we'd be more than happy to go over all your options with you at our Farmington Area Ford Dealer.
