Ford Reveals Tech-Savvy Ford Edge Concept
First, Ford has revealed that this Ford Edge Concept will come with a self-parking feature that will build on the active park-assist technology that Ford currently offers. This technology will allow the car to parallel or perpendicular park itself, all from a simple push of a button. The driver will need to push a button inside the vehicle and sit back while it parks, or step outside and tell the vehicle to park via a remote control.
The Ford Edge Concept will also have an obstacle avoidance technology that keeps the passengers of the vehicle safe by steering out of the way of any slow-moving or stationary objects. First, the technology will warn the driver that they are rapidly approaching an object, giving the driver plenty of time to slow down or stop. If the driver makes no move to avoid the object, the vehicle will use cameras and sensors to safely steer the vehicle out of the way.
Finally, Ford has announced that the Ford Edge Concept comes with adaptive steering. This technology allows for high-speed control and makes low-speed moves easier. It will also feature a start-stop technology that will boost fuel economy significantly.
