But, this week is also a time to remember the past as Ford Motor Company Celebrates 65 Years of the F-Series Truck!65 years ago, on January 16th, 1948, Ford Motor Company introduced the first F-Series truck to the public, the first post war product from the company. The new F-Series replaced the automaker's previous car-based pickup line that began production in 1941. The original Ford F-Series truck was special for its design that offered more space and better ventilation--"living room comfort". Built with one of three engines (95hp 6-cylinder, 100hp V8, or 145hp V8), the first F-Series lineup from 1948 included standard pickups with two wheelbase lengths, regular and heavy-duty models, commercial delivery trucks, and 42- to 48-passenger school-bus trucks.
