New Ford Technical Support Center Opens in Concord, NC

WESTLAND, Mich - Today Ford announced that the New Ford Technical Support Center has Opened in Concord, NC! Being that Concord is relatively close to the NASCAR research and development center as well as a greater part of race car team headquarters, Ford could imagine no better location for the support center. The state-of-the-art facility is packed with a variety of tools that will help in the development of future performance vehicles and will be a huge contributor to Ford's future success in motorsports. Complete operation of the entire facility will be in full swing this summer, serving as a 33,000-square-foot center for Ford Racing technical support and for teams to create and test their competition vehicles.

The New Ford Technical Support Center is fully equipped with advanced simulation and measurement tools, but this is only the beginning. This facility will allow for rapid and smarter leverage of the most advanced technology in product development, in result creating a profitable lineup of Ford performance vehicles. For now, the facility will focus on supporting NASCAR teams in all three major touring divisions, eventually expanding to include other Ford Racing teams that participate in other series. The "main attraction" at the center? A full-motion platform simulator which allows Ford Racing teams to optimize their setups for individual track configurations. It also allows drivers to practice ahead of time for an upcoming race. Pretty cool, huh?
