Ford Model T History

Ford Model T HistoryWESTLAND, Mich.- North Brothers Ford is wishing the Model T a very happy birthday today! Today marks the 104th birthday of the Ford Model T! On October 8, 1908, the Ford Model T debuted, making automobiles necessities ever since. Thanks to Henry Ford, the availability of an affordable car put the world on wheels. The Ford Model T was available for 19 years and during that time more than 15 million Model T's were produced and sold.

Offered in several body styles ranging from 2-7 seats, the Ford Model T was mass produced in only one color for most of its history--black. The assembly line concept allowed the price of the Ford Model T to decrease over time, making it even more accessible. The Model T engine generated a whole 20 horsepower, propelling the car to max speeds of 40-45 mph fueled by a 10 gallon fuel tank.
