First Retail of 2015 Ford Mustang GT Fastback Will Benefit Leading Diabetes Research Charity
WESTLAND, Mich - An auction will be held for the first retail of the 2015 Ford Mustang GT fastback to benefit leading diabetes research charity, JDRF. The winner bidder of the fastback will have the ability to personalize his or her car with any available Mustang GT options.

The Barrett-Jackson Auction Company event in Scottsdale, AZ on January 18, 2014 will be the first retail unit sale of the all-new Ford Mustang. All proceeds will benefit the country's leading global organization funding type 1 diabetes search, JDRF. With Ford Mustang symbolizing freedom and independence for millions of people around the world for five decades, it seems only fitting that Ford auction off a new Mustang to help advance the goal of providing those affected by diabetes with more independence.

Ford has been one of JDRF's first global partners and supporters since 1983. Ford Mustangs have always been one of the most popular collector cars at the Barrett-Jackson Collector Car events. During the auction, Ford will also be offering ride-and-drive and hot lap experience at WestWorld for those attending the sale. The ride-and-drive features Ford's elite stable of 2014 vehicles, and the hot lap experience includes the Shelby GT500, Focus ST, and Fiesta ST.

April 17, 2014 marks 50 years since Mustang's introduction. Each 2015 model celebrates the milestone with a badge showing the infamous pony logo and the words "Mustang-Since 1964". Ford is kicking off the next 50 years of Mustang in style with the sleek all-new design, world-class performance and innovative technologies.

The first retail of the 2015 Ford Mustang GT fastback will not only benefit leading diabetes research charity, it will also kick off the start to an amazing year of new innovations for Ford Motor Company.

Ford Trend Report Reveals Consumer Priority Change in 2014

Ford Trend Report Reveals Consumer Priority Change in 2014
WESTLAND, Mich - According to the results from Ford's second annual trend report, consumer priorities are set to change in 2014. Consumers are reevaluating their relationship with technology,  creating a balance between the need of being constantly plugged in with a new appreciation for spending quality time off-line.

The Looking Further with Ford 2014 report discussed the 10 global trends for the new year and how the technology outburst will affect consumer decisions and behaviors. The top trend for 2014 is Innovation's Quiet Riot. This trend explores whether or not people will continue to try to keep up with an "always-on" society and fear missing, or if they will begin to spend more time enjoying the moments with friends, family, and community, free of technological distraction.

With the ability to understand customers and their evolving needs, Ford can adapt these factors into their accelerated growth plan and new vehicle development. Consumer trends direct Ford's product strategies and development of vehicles. With this, Ford can exceed customer expectations and connect with constant changes of society.

Here is the list of the top 10 trends for 2014. Which one of these trends will you find yourself following?

1. Innovations Quiet Riot - Rapid innovation is becoming more established worldwide and changing the way we work, play, and communicate with one another.

2. Old School - Consumers enjoy how things used to be and find a connection with products, brands, and experiences that bring back those memories.

3. Meaningful vs the Middle Man - Looking for more intimate connections with retailers and service providers. Consumers want stories of identity and meaning in their products and services.

4. Statusphere - Consumers are expanding the ways to show their wealth both publicly and secretly.

5. Vying for Validation - Forms of digital and public expression are created by consumers, which may need more validation than their true self

6. Fear of Missing Out / Joy of Missing Out: It is is a tug of war between consumers taking advantage of everything at their disposal and being mindful of focusing on what matters most.

7. Micro Moments - With endless information at our disposal, every moment of downtime can be filled with more facts, education, and entertainment.

8. Myth of Multitasking - Evidence is showing that when we do everything at once, we sacrifice quality and safety of each thing we do.

9. Female Frontier - Women and men will redefine roles and responsibilities in 2014! Roles of women have reached new importance and demographic shifts are changing household dynamics.

10. Sustainability Blues: With the world working on going green, the attention is shifting beyond just recycling and eco-chic living to a growing concern for the importance of the plant's water.

Ford EcoBoost® Police Interceptor Vehicle Dominates Competitors

Ford EcoBoost® Police Interceptor Vehicle Dominates Competitors
WESTLAND, Mich - For the third year in a row, Los Angeles Sheriff Department tests the EcoBoost-all wheel-drive-equipped Ford Police Interceptor sedan and utility vehicles at the Fontana raceway in California. Both were the fastest in 0-100 mph acceleration testing and average lap times. The New Ford EcoBoost Police Interceptor dominates competitors, with the utility vehicle accelerating faster than all other base V6 sedans.

Not only is the third annual win a point of pride, but the results of the utility vehicle are remarkable for both the automotive industry and Ford. Police Interceptor utility represents a 60 percent increase of Ford police vehicle sales. With the performance levels achieved by the Police Interceptor sedan and utility vehicle, Ford is leading two major shifts in police vehicles since the newest introduction last year of the all-new Police Interceptor family. Since the launch, Ford Police Interceptor sedan sales increased by 34 percent in the 2013 calendar year. The utility sales are up a massive 142 percent.

The Ford Police Interceptor utility vehicle is only available with all-wheel drive and 88 percent of the sedan's volume is all-wheel drive. LASD tests show police agencies will not need to sacrifice performance for the added space and versatility the utility vehicle provides. The LASD and Michigan State Police tests earlier this year have shown that Ford's all-wheel drive improves handling, most importantly when in chase situations.

Ford Police Interceptor vehicles are getting the attention of agencies nationwide with the attractive ability to save law enforcement's money without compromising speed. The transition from traditional V8-equipped police vehicles to a powerful, more efficient Ford EcoBoost V6 vehicle makes this possible. Ford is continuing to offer law enforcement agencies alternative vehicle choices with the announcement in September of a new non-pursuit-rated, fuel-efficient 2.0-liter EcoBoost-equipped Special Service Police Sedan. Did we mention it gets 30 mph highway? Ford is continuing to work hard so that their EcoBoost Police Interceptor Vehicles dominate competitors today and in the future

2015 Ford Mustang Might Get Diesel, Hybrid, and Electric Powertrains

2015 Ford Mustang Might Get Diesel, HYbrid, and Electric Powertrains
WESTLAND, Mich. - The 2015 Ford Mustang was officially revealed last week to the delight of pony car fans across the world. While the 2015 model will come with an EcoBoost option to help drivers get better gas mileage, Ford has also announced that the 2015 Ford Mustang might get diesel, hybrid and electric powertrains - talk about options!

Although this announcement was made, no specifics were given to the public. However, all Ford representatives were in agreement that Ford will be making fuel economy a priority as they work together to improve the 2015 Ford Mustang and make it for fuel efficient.

As we mentioned before, the 2015 Ford Mustang will come with a 2.3-liter EcoBoost turbocharged four-cylinder engine option for those looking for a more fuel efficient option. The best part about offering the turbocharged EcoBoost is that drivers won't have to sacrifice power to save a little on gas because this engine will produce 305 HP and 300 lb-ft of torque.

We are so excited about the information that is being dispersed about the new pony car - especially the fact that the 2015 Ford Mustang might get diesel, hybrid or electric powertrains. Until all the official details are released, we invite you to admire the updated model's look - we certainly are! If you'd like to actually get behind the wheel of a pony car, come by our dealership! Ford Motor Company Teams With State of Michigan to Cut Down on Teen Crashes

Ford Motor Company Teams With State of Michigan to Cut Down on Teen Crashes
WESTLAND, Mich. - Ford vehicles are known for offering a variety of safety features to keep you and your young driver safe on the road - whether it be a lane departure warning, obstacle avoidance system, or one of the other safety features, Ford puts safety first. However, no amount of safety features can prevent a crash from happening if the driver is behaving recklessly on the road. To educate young drivers on the dangers of reckless driving, the Ford Motor Company has announced that they will be teaming up with the state of Michigan to cut down on teen crashes.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, traffic accident rates for 16 -19 year old drivers are higher than any other age group. In fact, in the state of Michigan it has been estimated that 10 percent of all deadly crashes in 2012 involved drivers under the age of 21. It is believed that unsafe speeds, poor hazard detection, and low risk perception all have a huge part to play in crashes with young drivers.

To help cut down on deadly crashes involving teens, Ford Motor Company will help fund a Parents Supervised Driving Program. Under this program, Ford will pay for teen driving guides to be handed out to parents across the state. These guides provide parents of teen drivers with curriculum that has been developed to maximize the value of the supervised driving component of getting a driver's license. Essentially, when your teen is learning to drive and they have reached the stage in their training where the parent is supposed to ride along with them and supervise their driving, this program will assist parents in providing their children with clear, concise and easily actionable instructions.

Ford Motor Company is teaming up with the state of Michigan to cut down on teen crashes, but there is still a lot that you can do to protect them should an accident occur. To see what Ford safety features are offered to protect the driver and passengers, stop by our dealership! We would be more than happy to go over the various features with you and help you find a car you will feel safe in.

Ford Has Best Sales for a November Since 2004

WESTLAND, Mich. - Ford Motor Company has just experienced the best sales for a November since 2004, continuing the upward climb for this year! With such a successful year almost under their belt, Ford has projected they will sell about 770,000 vehicles in the first quarter of 2014.

Ford has had the best sales for a November since 2004, with a 7 percent increase overall and a 9 percent increase in the month of November alone. These fantastic numbers are due in part to the sales increase of the Ford Fusion and the Ford Fiesta. Both passenger cars set records for the month of November with the Ford Fusion experiencing a 51 percent increase and the Ford Fiesta at 4,642 vehicles sold - a 26 percent increase!

The Ford F-Series is also leading the way with the 7th straight month of selling over 60,000 vehicles. These numbers only solidify the truck series as America's best-selling pickup AND best-selling vehicle for another year.

Ford Makes Progress With CNG-Capable Vehicles

Ford Makes Progress With CNG-Capable Vehicles
WESTLAND, Mich. - Ford is making great progress with CNG-capable vehicles, as they announce that the first CNG-capable 2014 Ford F-150 has rolled off the line in Kansas City. With the introduction of this alternative fuel vehicle, Ford has also revealed that they will have eight other vehicles on the market with the same fuel option by next summer.

By offering vehicles with CNG capabilities, Ford will make great strides in becoming a cleaner and more efficient company. CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) is a much cleaner and cheaper fuel option than regular gasoline, which means Ford drivers will save money at the pump. While you're saving money on gas, you'll also be reducing your carbon footprint since the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has confirmed that CNG usage results in up to 30 percent less greenhouse gas emissions. This is mostly due to the fact that CNG is comprised of methane, a cleaner burning gas. As a bonus, 85 percent of the CNG used in the U.S. is produced domestically!

With so many great reasons to use CNG, many Ford fleet customers are rushing to purchase the alternative fuel vehicle. It is because of this demand that Ford has decided that they will be adding to the CNG-capable vehicle options and offer eight CNG-capable commercial vehicles by the summer of 2014. These vehicles will be:

  • 2014 F-150 light-duty pickup
  • F53 and F59 stripped chassis
  • F-650 medium-duty truck
  • F-Series Super Duty chassis Cab (F-450, F-550)
  • F-Series Super Duty pickup and F-350 chassis cab
  • E-Series van, wagon, cutaway and stripped chassis
  • Transit van, wagon, cutaway and chassis cab
  • Transit Connect van and wagon
Ford is making great progress with CNG-capable vehicles. If you'd like to see how you can make your fleet CNG-capable, or need help finding a vehicle that is more fuel-efficient, come on in to North Bros! We would be more than happy to discuss any of your vehicle needs and are here to help with everything from Auto Loans to helping you with the Ford Early Bird Lease Turn-In offer.
